A pediatric dentist needs to have undergone two years of advanced training after they have completed dental school, and they must also be accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.

Dr. Lee compares the qualifications of a pediatric dentist versus those of a family dentist. When looking for a pediatric dental specialist, they must have certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Specifically, in New Jersey, when a dental specialist wants to advertise, they need to have a specialty permit number that a prospective patient can request, so as to confirm whether he is a specialist or not. Dr. Lee also covers other mostly requested topics that patients have shown interest in. One of the topics that he promises to cover in the next video is the thumbsucking habit in children and how to help a child kick it.
